YORKSHIRE engineering services group Renew Holdings today said trading during the second half of the financial year has been pleasing and it expects that results will be in line with market expectations for the year.

In a trading update following the end of its financial year on September 30 2013, the Leeds-based group, which operates in UK infrastructure markets, also said the initial integration of Lewis Civil Engineering, which was acquired in August, has gone well.
 
The group said: “Order flow has been encouraging in all market segments.  The board confirms that the group will record a net cash position as at September 30 2013.”
 
Preliminary annual results will be announced next month.

TRADE experts from Belgium, Denmark and Norway have visited food and drink producers in Leeds, Blubberhouses and Otley to highlight opportunities in their respective markets for ambitious SMEs keen to break into Scandanavia and beyond.

A trio of overseas officers for UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) toured Suma Wholefoods, Mackenzies Yorkshire Smokehouse and Wharfebank Brewery to sample what the region has to offer.

The touring party said there is a growing demand for British food and drink products across the North Sea, and that Yorkshire has a world class reputation as being home to some of the very best.

PRINTING company Envisage Print has moved to new premises in order to make way for its increasing custom, growing  team and new machinery.

Family-run Envisage Print began nine years ago and after investing in new equipment, it has now relocated to a new 2,000 sq ft factory. Over the past year, turnover at the Hull firm has risen sharply, from £8,000 in month one, to £35,000 in month 12.

Simon Havercroft, co-founder of Envisage Print, said: “We’ve taken some big risks considering the current economic climate, but through hard work and looking after our customers it has paid off.”

DUNLOP Oil & Marine, part of ContiTech AG, a manufacturer and supplier of hoses to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, is to have its three sites at Grimsby, Ashington and Aberdeen securely linked through a new contract awarded to Yorkshire-based Claritas Solutions worth £150,000.

The work is on plan to be completed by the end of the year. Claritas will be implementing a 100mb MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) system which upgrades it from its current 2mb one.

Claritas Solutions, launched in 1997 and is based in Bramham, West Yorkshire. It specialises in providing complete, tailor made information technology systems.

Kevin Edwards, sales director, said: “Winning this contract has given us a real buzz as we know we can be of real assistance to this ambitious company.”

A YORKSHIRE company has launched a virtual marketing service to help support SMES.

The service, from Keighley-based Hello Market, enables business owners to develop direct marketing campaigns.

The website helps business owners use their own customer data or find new customers, create personalised mail packs and have them delivered within five days.

Tony Kemp, managing director of Hello Market, said: “Direct mail is a powerful tool for growing a business. My personal hope is that Hello Market will help support small businesses through the economic recovery by becoming their virtual marketing department.”

The company believes the website will be helpful to independent retailers, professional services and charities. It plans to extend the range of creative options over the coming months.
