Unisurge International expands into Yorkshire

A LEADING manufacturer and supplier of practitioner-specified medical disposables and theatre products to healthcare professionals has expanded into Yorkshire after snapping up a 90,000 sq ft warehouse.

GVA’s Yorkshire industrial team brokered the sale of the unit at Wakefield Europort estate in Castleford, acting on behalf of the tenant Scottish Power in a transaction which involved a surrender of the lease with a simultaneous purchase by the new owner Unisurge International.

The acquisition of the unit enables further expansion for Unisurge, which has been looking to set up a northern distribution facility in West Yorkshire.

Matthew Moon, finance director at Unisurge International, said: “The location and specification of this facility is ideal for our immediate requirement for regional distribution to best service our customers.

“Additionally we are excited by the opportunity to establish manufacturing capability in the medium term, which will bring with it the opportunity for significant job creation at the Castleford site.”

Iain McPhail, associate at GVA, added: “The property is of a quality specification and is well located close to Junction 31 of the M62. Furthermore it offers Unisurge the flexibility to accommodate future growth of the business.”

DTZ acted as joint agent.
