West Yorkshire accountancy firms merge

NAYLOR WINTERSGILL has merged with fellow Bradford-based accountants Auker Rhodes to create what is thought to be the largest accountancy firm in Bradford city centre.

The deal is the first step of Naylor Wintersgill’s ambitious growth strategy driven by its new executive team.

Managing partner Vicky Wainwright said: “We’re delighted to have concluded this merger with such a strong firm of independent accountants who share our philosophy of helping our clients to grow and succeed. The specialisms and expertise of the staff at Auker Rhodes will complement the knowledge and know-how on offer to all our clients.

“We have known the partners at Auker Rhodes for many years and recognise that our firms have a similar culture and ethos of providing clients with a first class service based on strong client relationships. The combined firm will add value and expertise to our portfolio of clients and present new areas for organic growth and collaborative work.”

Tony Pedley of Auker Rhodes said: “After considering the future plans of Auker Rhodes Accounting and reviewing the current marketplace, it was clear that Naylor Wintersgill would offer the ideal fit for our firm, our people and our clients. We’re looking forward to joining forces and enhancing our current service provision to clients.”

Sandy Needham, chief executive of the West and North Chamber of Commerce said: “This is great news in that two key players in Bradford’s professional market have combined areas of expertise to strengthen the service offering to local businesses.”

Auker Rhodes staff have transferred to the Naylor Wintersgill offices at Carlton House.
