Sky Bet creates hundreds of jobs with £11m investment
SKY Betting and Gaming is to create 200 jobs in Yorkshire as it continues to expand across Leeds and Sheffield.
The business, which was spun out of Sky earlier this year, is to invest £11m as it adds 100 jobs in each city, boosting its Yorkshire workforce to more than 900.
“With the business performing well we have decided that now is the time to significantly increase our investment in people and facilities,” said Sky Bet chief executive Richard Flint.
“This is a vote of confidence not only in our own plans to make betting and gaming better but also in the health of the Yorkshire economy.”
Sky Bet’s newly-opened Sheffield Technology Hub at the Electric Works will be the focal point of a software and commercial academy, while in Leeds it will open a customer hub in the city centre and increase its technology team at its Wellington Place headquarters, where it will add an extra floor.
It is spending £250,000 on a marketing campaign to support its recruitment drive.
