Architects deliver major upgrade to retail park

YORKSHIRE architects The Harris Partnership has delivered the first phase of a major facelift at Fosse Park in Leicester, one of the UK’s largest retail parks, for client The Crown Estate.

The multi–million pound phased redevelopment includes the installation of modern facades and raised canopies that enhance store exteriors and significantly improve retail visibility, alongside substantial upgrades to the landscaping of the park’s public spaces and redesign of the pedestrian walkways between store areas and car parking facilities.

Mike Bell, asset manager at The Crown Estate, said: “Fosse is one of the country’s most successful shopping parks and this investment will consolidate the park’s position by ensuring that the great range of brands and restaurants are given a stylish, contemporary setting complete with modern buildings and vibrant public spaces.”

At 560,000 sq ft, Fosse Park attracts around 10m shoppers each year.
