Wealth management firm to expand East Mids business

Andy Jackson

A wealth management firm is set to up its presence in the East Midlands.

UBS Wealth Management has appointed Andy Jackson as client advisor in its Midlands office, as the firm expands its offering in the East Midlands.

Jackson joins from Coutts, where he was a private client director for nine years. Before Coutts, he was investment planning manager at NatWest and ran a family office for an UHNW family.

Phillip Wood, regional head, Midlands, at UBS Wealth Management said: “We’ve been working with clients in the Midlands for the past 10 years, with client advisors spread across the region. The Birmingham office is going from strength to strength and we are constantly on the lookout for the best talent.

“Although when people think of business in the Midlands they traditionally focus on Birmingham, there is an abundance of business activity across the region, beyond the West. Andy’s arrival will enable us to bring our offer to more entrepreneurs, business owners and families, as we continue to focus on opportunities outside of the West Midlands.”

Jackson said: “UBS has an unrivalled regional footprint. I am looking forward to working with the team in Birmingham to build on their success in helping clients achieve their financial and life goals.

“The Midlands Engine is placing the region on the map as one of the UK’s prime business destinations, and it is exciting to be involved in this period of growth.”

Jackson will be working alongside client advisor Kaleem Mohammed, who currently covers the East Midlands for UBS Wealth Management.

Joining Clarkson are three new assistants, Toni Ward, Tace Jones and Haroon Akbar, bringing the total team at the Birmingham office to 15.
