New jobs to be created after manufacturing unit gets green light

A new 41,500 sq ft manufacturing unit is due to be built on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border.

The building, at Castlewood Business Park, will be the first of up to four new units planned, with the remaining three in for planning with Bolsover District Council. Part of the Castlewood site sits within Ashfield District Council area and part of it is in neighbouring Bolsover District.

Current occupiers at Castlewood include Alloga, Bombardier, Co-Op and Parker Knoll.

James Richards, director at Clowes Developments, said: We are continuing the success story of Castlewood Business Park with this next generation unit and are very happy to have been able to work with Ashfield District Council to secure planning permission despite the challenge of the current circumstances.

“We firmly believe demand for best in class distribution, manufacturing and logistical units in a location such as this will remain buoyant. When the economy bounces back we want to ensure we are have the right units available in the right location to help local, national and international businesses grow and contribute to by providing local employment.

“Our core purpose as a company is around bringing opportunity to life, be that through a small single site or a large thousand acre urban extension capable of delivering thousands of new homes and business premises. Guided by over half a century of successful entrepreneurship, we know exactly when and how to tease out the maximum value from an investment.”
