Nottingham law firm Actons has strengthened its private client team with the promotion of three senior lawyers as directors.
Heather Parker, Cara Watson and Bindiya Patel have been promoted and will rotate in the role as head of private client.
Parker joined the firm as an Associate in 2020 having qualified as a solicitor in 2005. She is a chair of the Nottinghamshire Law Society’s Private Client Committee, and is a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly and STEP.
Patel has been with the firm since 2016 and successfully completed the STEP diploma in late 2019, the kite mark qualification for private client lawyers. She became a fully accredited member and Trust and Estate Practitioner in early 2020.
Watson, who has a particular interest in advising farming families, joined the firm in 2017 and is also STEP qualified. She has recently taken on the role as chair of the East Midlands branch of STEP.
In January, fellow team member Ruth Swain was promoted to associate.
The team also includes family lawyer and director Mike Spencer and paralegal Louise Craven.

Sunny Accountants has taken on three new staff members to deal with the growing demand for its advice and support.
Joanne Wall, Rebecca Beresford and Samuel Skelton have all joined the firm based in Sutton in Ashfield as part of its plans to expand its services to more businesses locally.
Wall joins as client manager, Beresford joins the accounts team and Skelton has been recruited as accounts apprentice.
