Traffic Alert: Delays expected as A50 closed ‘for a number of hours’

Motorists are expected to experience delays on the A50 in Derbyshire this morning after a “serious collision”.

National Highways is reporting that the road is closed eastbound between the A6 (Thurston) and the B6540 (Cavendish Bridge)

Derbyshire Roads Policeing Unit has tweeted: “The A50 is closed eastbound towards the motorway between J2 A6 Thulston and J1 B6540 Sawley.

“There has been a serious collision and we expect the road to be closed for a number of hours.”
