Peak District holiday venue hits the market
Christie & Co, business property advisor, has been instructed to market the Peak District holiday barn, a self-catering vacation rental property located in Derbyshire.
Situated on the A623 in Wardlow Mires, the property is in the middle of the Peak District National Park.
The holiday barn has undergone extensive renovations by the owner. It now includes seven bedrooms, accommodating up to 24 guests, the property also offers an open-plan lounge, dining area, and kitchen on the first floor.
Next to the main property is Mires Cottage, a one-bedroom cottage with its private courtyard and a wedding barn connected to a games room, featuring an indoor pizza oven and catering area. There’s also a wood-burning hot tub on a covered terrace.
The current owners, Mark and Marie Stirgess, have managed the business for the past two decades and are now selling to pursue other ventures.
Gavin Webb, associate director at Christie & Co said: “Properties such as the Peak District Holiday Barn don’t come to the market very often. The current owners have done an amazing job of growing the business into a popular holiday rental and burgeoning weddings business, however there is still plenty of scope for the new owner to put their mark on the property, such as further developing the weddings part of the business. Additionally, the separate cottage could be converted to owner’s accommodation, making it ideal for an owner operator.
“Given its location and the ongoing buoyancy of the UK staycation market, we don’t expect the business to remain on the market for long.”
