Russell Roof Tiles nears completion of £18.5m manufacturing site

Roofing manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles is entering the final stages of its largest investment to date – a £18.5m manufacturing facility in Burton-on-Trent.
Located at the company’s Nicolson Way site, the new plant is set to double production capacity while introducing new sustainability features, including solar panels and a curing facility.
The expansion forms part of the firm’s long-term strategy to boost output, improve energy efficiency and support growing market demand.
Alongside the main build, Russell Roof Tiles has also invested £100,000 in new machinery at its plastics site in the town.
The installation of a Borche 400TN Injection Moulding Machine will help fast-track the production of Dry Verge Unit components for its latest roofing product, Bute3®, the UK’s first multi-functional roof tile.
Daniel Hancox, corporate sustainability and development director at Russell Roof Tiles said: “We are dedicated to continual improvements, meeting customer demand and developing as a business through product investment. Over the years, we’ve made significant commitments to state-of-the-art machinery, from solar panels to our fleet of electric forklift trucks, to enhance our processes while meeting efficiency targets.
“This latest investment marks the latest step in our product investment journey and supports our ongoing sustainable strategy to minimise our environmental impact. This new machine offers potential energy savings of up to 60-80 per cent, aligning nicely with our sustainability and Net Zero objectives, helping us further reduce our carbon footprint.”
