Pizza Express plans to take a bigger slice of West Bridgford

Pizza Express wants to open its second outlet in West Bridgford after submitting a planning application for an takeaway operation on Radcliffe Road.
The chain wants to open at Bridgford Point on the corner of Radcliffe Road and Lady Bay Avenue in a move that could create up to 15 jobs.
Pizza Express already has a restaurant on Central Avenue in West Bridgford and two in Nottingham city centre.
The firm has long eyed the site, and was refused permission to open there in 2007 when it wanted 60% of retail parade at the mixed-use development. The new plans are for just 10%.
Adrian Kerrison of AMK, who submitted the planning application on behalf of Pizza Express, said: “The proposed pizza takeaway use, which will be almost exclusively a delivery based operation will have a minimal impact on the amenities of nearby residents in the context of existing traffic and other late night activity established in this area and in fact it is difficult to envisage a more appropriate location for this type of operation in West Bridgford.”
