New company takes over at Mansfield venue

A new company is set to take over the lease of the former Lindhurst Rooms in Mansfield.

The Civic Quarter has won the contract to run the venue, within the Civic Centre of Chesterfield Road, which has a capacity of 400 people.

Paul Andrews, from the company, said: “There is nothing quite like this venue in the whole of this area and we’re delighted to be taking on the lease.

“We’ll be carrying out extensive decorating works and putting in a new bar, and we are working with Mansfield District Council to completely recommission the kitchen facilities.

“It’s exciting because this venue used to host all sorts of events, from wedding parties to Christmas dinners, and from conferences to wedding and business shows.”

He added: “As you can see from the first major show, this place has potential to put Mansfield firmly on the map.”

Andrews is the co-owner with Diane Doran of the multi-award-winning Mansfield Manor Hotel, on the outskirts of Carr Bank Park in Mansfield.

Kate Allsop, Mansfield’s executive mayor, said: “These rooms have been crying out to be used so it is fantastic that the new Civic Quarter is going to be there.

“There’s nothing like it in Mansfield, and it is in an ideal location, with car parking too. It’s great to hear about the plans and see a company willing to invest time and energy into this project.”
