1. The NET Winter Wonderland

2. Strictly Northampton
Date: Saturday 19th November
Location: Derngate, Northampton

Now in its seventh year, local personalities from Northamptonshire put their best Strictly foot forward to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Contestants learn Ballroom and Latin American dance in just eight weeks and take to the stage to perform for the coveted Strictly Northampton glitterball trophy.

3. Winter Food & Drink Festival
Date: Sunday 20th November
Location: Leicester Market

Leicester’s eagerly-anticipated Winter Food & Drink Festival is returning this weekend with a plethora of food and drink stalls trading between 11am and 6:00pm. Offering a range of both sweet and savoury delicacies from different cultures, the festival brings together food fanatics from across the county. Celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will also be making a special appearance, entertaining the crowds with a demonstration of his award-winning cooking skills.

4. Christmas at Lincoln Cathedral

Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas at Lincoln Cathedral’s Christmas and Advent programme of services and concerts. As well as being one of Europe’s finest examples of architecture and having a rich history, Lincoln Cathedral is also a place of worship and has a varied programme of concerts and services throughout the festive season.

The Christmas and Advent programme includes carol concerts, Christmas services, Evensong, Holy Communion and many more Christmas events pointing towards the birth and life of Jesus Christ.

5. Christmas lights switch on
Date: Sunday 20th November
Location: Chesterfield Market

Join in the magic and fun of the annual Christmas Lights Switch on as the event gets underway with a market from noon featuring entertainment, stalls and rides in the Market Place. The stage show will begin at 3.30pm with Peak FM presenters providing the fun and competitions. Stars from this years Pantomime at the Pomegranate Theatre will join the Mayor and Mayoress, Father Christmas and Peppa Pig to turn on the lights.
