On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Caroline Elliot

Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has bolstered its Nottingham office with the appointment of a family law partner.

Caroline Elliott, who was previously at Nelsons Solicitors, has joined the firm.

Specialising in advising clients in relation to divorce and financial settlements, post and pre-nuptial agreements, Elliot, who has returned to Nottingham after an 18 month spell in Leicester, has over 24 years’ experience in family disputes including those between unmarried couples and those with substantial assets.

Duncan James, Shakespeare Martineau business partner in Nottingham, said: “It is terrific that Caroline is joining the firm at such an exciting time. The need for family law advice has never been more important for companies and businesses, whether within the family unit or in respect of succession planning. Caroline will have a big impact in helping all of our clients over the future months and years.”

Alex Smith, partner at Shakespeare Martineau’s Nottingham office, added: “It’s great for clients and colleagues alike to see us attracting and recruiting further highly regarded and talented partners. Caroline’s appointment is one of many that the firm is proceeding with and continues our drive for growth across our sites.”
