Exco InTouch, the Nottingham-based patient engagement, data capture and digital health firm has been sold to Philadelphia-based rival ERT.

The value of the transaction hasn’t been disclosed.

Exco counts former Clinphone boss Neil Rotherham as its chairman, and has grown to employ over 100 people out of its Nottingham base.

ERT says the combined organisation will provide the biopharmaceutical industry with “the most advanced and comprehensive choice for electronic clinical outcome assessments (eCOA), patient engagement and digital health”.

“ERT is the eCOA industry leader with a strong history in developing novel eClinical products and technologies to minimize risk and uncertainty in clinical research. They were an obvious choice when we were assessing our strategic business development options,” said Tim Davis, founder and CEO, Exco InTouch.

He added: “Now biopharmaceutical companies can turn to one company for all of their eCOA, patient engagement and commercialization needs, with confidence that their programs will have the right level of experience and expertise, anticipatory oversight, and adaptive problem solving required to ensure the most reliable results.”
