Sheridan sacked as Notts County boss

John Sheridan

John Sheridan has been sacked as Notts County manager after a disastrous run of nine consecutive defeats which has seen the Magpies drop to just one place above the Football League trapdoor.

The development comes at a time of transition for Notts County with Ray Trew having sold the Club last week to local businessman Alan Hardy. Hardy, who has been active on Twitter over the festive period, announced himself as owner and chairman last week, but it is unclear whether it was Trew or Hardy who made the decision to relieve Sheridan of his duties.

Notts County are now looking for their fourth manager in 12 months.

A statement on the Club’s website read: “Notts County FC can confirm that John Sheridan is to leave his position as manager with immediate effect.

“The club will be making no further statement at this time.”
