Plans submitted for Beeston mixed-use development

Plans have been submitted for The Hive, a mixed-use development of 1,700 sq ft of retail space and 18 apartments on the corner of Chilwell Road and Ellis Grove in Beeston.
The plans have been sent to Broxtowe Borough Council by 3S Holdings of Nottingham.
The five storey building will be called The Hive. The residential part of the development will include a large two-bedroom penthouse on the top floor, whilst the first three floors will be a mixture of studio and 1-bedroom apartments.
A design and access statement prepared by Swish Architecture reads: “The application proposal seeks to utilise a site within a prime location within a thriving town.”
The news comes just a week after plans were lodged for a gateway entrance to Beeston were submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council.
Initial plans for the Barton Quarter, to be built on the site of the former Barton bus depot on the High Road, Chilwell, include 29 houses – with a further outline application for 221 further homes and a mixed-use scheme to sit alongside them.
