On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Nottingham-based marketing consultancy, V Formation, has hired a new marketing consultant, following a 40 percent increase in new client instructions during 2016.

Jemma Taylor-Smith, joins V Formation and will be supporting directors Hilary Campton and Sue Carr.

Taylor-Smith has a background in professional services marketing where she has held in-house positions at Grant Thornton, Berryman (now part of Shakespeare Martineau) and most recently at Awbery Management Centre.

Carr said: “Jemma will be working with several of our clients as their outsourced marketing manager as well as providing both strategic and tactical support to businesses on a project-by-project basis. She is an ideal fit for our growing team and we know our clients will appreciate the value and expertise that she brings to the table.”

Taylor-Smith said: “I’m really excited to be joining V Formation. They have a brilliant reputation, great clients and lots of interesting plans for the future. I’m looking forward to being part of the business as it continues to grow.”

Langleys Solicitors has appointed Fiona Kingscott to its corporate team.

Kingscott joins Lincoln-based Langleys from the University of Leeds, where she worked on licensing the IP in research results to the NHS and private sector.

In her role as an IP solicitor, Kingscott will specialise in non-contentious IP and commercial law. This includes agreements relating to IT, supply, distribution, trademarks and consumer protection.

Prior to the University of Leeds, she spent three years as solicitor and assistant company secretary at Filtronic followed by six years in the IP team at Lupton Fawcett, specialising in non-contentious IP and commercial law.

Tim Cross, head of commercial at Langleys, said: “Fiona is a talented and experienced IP lawyer, who adds further expertise to our corporate team. She is an expert in the many different facets of intellectual property law on which we advise our clients.
