Notts tech entrepreneur reveals global plans

A Nottinghamshire tech entrepreneur says he wants to create 15 jobs within the next year with the launch of a new classroom management software brand.
Jonathan Valentine, who in 2015 sold his Impero business that he started from his bedroom and built up to a multinational company employing 80 people, has formed a new company called Renato which is launching senso.cloud.
Valentine told TheBusinessDesk.com: “With schools moving towards placing most of their infrastructure into the cloud and bringing in more and more cloud based products such as Office365, it only made sense to build an offering for this generation of technology.
“In the early days within Impero, we were extremely flexible and could move with market trends quickly. Once we got to about 80 staff and had investors on board, suddenly I realised the only way to progress Impero as a product was to start from scratch which is not possible in an established company without profits being affected. So I sold out and started senso.cloud.”
Valentine had a one year non-compete clause and brought a handful of Impero staff with him to Renato, which has has self-funded.
He added: “We have set on a mission to create a solution that will enable not only schools, but anyone with a network, to monitor and manage their computers from anywhere – even from their phone. So for example, you can remotely see and control any computer in your network, send it a file or message, see what program is using all the processing power, check internet history, all from any web browser or phone in real-time.
“The solution is built with proven technology such as Microsoft’s Azure platform and known web technologies. In terms of innovation, senso utilises all the latest tech in a novel way to bring something truly revolutionary to market.
Valentine admits that his team his small, but that he intends to grow the business to at least 15-strong before the end of the year.
He said: “I envisage this growing to be a much more successful company than my previous, in a lot quicker time.
“I have 16 years worth of experience in the edtech sector and I intend to apply that in full force with senso.cloud to give our customers a truly next generation experience, with fantastic customer support.
“Over the coming months I intend to recruit a large number of staff in and around the Nottingham, Derby, Leicester areas in order to accelerate this business becoming a world leading software provider.”
