One of Nottingham’s most respected developers has been given the green light for a 101-apartment residential scheme in the city centre.
Ken Grundy’s Emma Property Management firm has been given the go-ahead to redevelop 1 Brook Street into The Bendigo Bulding, which will include 101 residential units, a cafe and creche on the second, third and fourth storeys of the existing building in a scheme designed by Franklin Ellis. There will also be a 106-space car park at the development.
The scheme will create 10 full-time jobs in a building that is currently vacant apsrt from the ground floor.
Grundy has been in talks with Nottigham City Council over the planned scheme since March 2015, according to a design and access statement seen by TheBusinessDesk.com. The scheme was “well received” by the Council, according to the document.
A statement from Franklin Ellis said: “The Bendigo Building development aims to revive a dilapidated and disused brownfield site and provide a high quality modern development in it’s place.
“The proposal will form an attractive gateway into the Nottingham Eastside Development area and Creative Quarter.”
