Derby County sack chief executive

Sam Rush

Derby County have sacked their president and CEO Sam Rush.

Rush was absent from the Rams’ game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

In a statement, Derby County said: “Derby County Football Club has today dismissed, with immediate effect, president and chief executive officer Sam Rush on the grounds of gross misconduct and breach of fiduciary duty.

“The club will be making no further comment at this stage.”

Rush was appointed in January 2013, and signed a new five-year contract in 2015.

Derby County have endured a frustrating season on the field. As they go into their final game, the Club are currently ninth in the Championship and can not make the play-offs.
