Caravan sales company to take over Retford compound

A former storage compound in Retford has been converted into a caravan sales site. (LSH).
Caravans UK has taken on The Gables site in Elkesley from owner Nottingham Sleeper Company in a deal brokered by LSH’s Nottingham office.
Ben Silcock, surveyor at LSH Nottingham, has agreed a ten-year lease with Caravans UK for the site, which was previously occupied by Carillion when undertaking improvements to the A1.
“We’re delighted to have secured a new occupier for this site,” he said. “Although it’s in a fairly rural location, it is just a moment’s drive from the A1.”
Paul Connolly, from Caravans UK, said securing the site, at Jockey Lane was one of the first steps, as part of a new business venture.
“The site immediately showed potential because it is visible from the A1, in allowing us, as a business, to be seen by the many thousands of commuters who pass our door each day,” he said. “Whilst we have only been open a short period of time, we have already seen a number of customers who have watched with interest as we have developed the site over the past few weeks and have subsequently called in to find out more.”
