On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

QHotels has appointed Ian Chaplin as general manager of its four-star hotel The Nottingham Belfry.

Chaplin brings over 15 years’ hospitality experience, most recently at EEF Venues’ Woodland Grange, in Leamington Spa, where he introduced new conference business and coordinated expansion into the region’s leisure market.

Previously he managed conference and banqueting at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham for the NEC Group, and took senior operations roles at DeVere and Principal Hayley Hotels.

prestigious venue known for its location and substantial residential offering for overnight conferences.

“The hotel also has a superb range of leisure and conference facilities, as well as a team dedicated to exceeding customer expectations. I will be building on these strengths, whilst consolidating the hotel’s position as the number one conference and events venue in the region.”

PR and marketing agency Shooting Star is expanding its team in Lincoln with the appointed of a new junior account executive.

Nikhita Keshwara studied Broadcast Journalism at Nottingham Trent University and achieved a first-class honours degree. Having completed a paid three-month internship with Shooting Star, she has now become a permanent member of the team.

Shields said: “We’re proud to welcome Nikhita to Shooting Star on a permanent basis. She has proved to be very capable so far and has fitted straight into the team.

“Nikhita’s degree and background in broadcast journalism has definitely helped her to quickly adapt to the role and she has grown in ability and confidence. We look forward to helping her further develop her skills and rise through the ranks.”
