On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Nineteen newcomers have joined the ranks of Mattioli Woods as part of the company’s graduate and apprenticeship intake.

Six are graduates recruited under the firm’s financial services development scheme, while 13 others have signed up for its apprenticeship programme.

Talent and development business partner Fiona Treadwell said: “Our graduate programme now spans two decades and has been the lifeblood of our talent growth. Today, many of those who came to us in the early waves hold key management positions.

“Meanwhile our apprenticeship scheme is in its seventh year and goes from strength to strength. We are committed to offering opportunities to young people and believe apprenticeships are vital to the continued growth and success of our business.”

The six graduate financial services development scheme recruits are Declan Davies, Megan Ashley, Joshua Richards, Prabhdeep Gill and Chenai Jakachira.

They are joined by financial services apprentices Eoin Greenwood, Thomas Cooley, Jai Patel, Eleanor Odams, Dylan Adatia, Simran Hothi, Jonathan Fielder and Umair Novsarka. Olivia Ward and Hafsa Ali are both on a chartered manager degree apprenticeship run in conjunction with Leicester’s De Montfort University.

Vinay Gogana arrives as a financial services level 3 apprentice, Joshua Freer goes into IT software development and Jake Gibbins the IT Helpdesk.

All are based at the company’s office at Enderby, Leicester.

Law firm Weightmans, which has an office in Leicester, has welcomed 87.5% of its trainees who commenced their training contract in 2015 back to the firm as newly qualified solicitors.

The solicitors will sit in a variety of departments across the firm, including corporate and commercial, real estate and litigation.

Sarah Littlemore, partner and head of knowledge services manages the trainee programme at Weightmans. She said: “We’re encouraged by the fact that our retention rate has remained high and consistent with previous years.

“As Weightmans continues to grow it’s crucial we not only attract the best talent but nurture it here by enabling progression and development within the firm.

“I’d like to congratulate all of our trainees on completing their training contracts. We have no doubt that these new lawyers will make an outstanding contribution to the firm and hope they enjoy long and successful careers here at Weightmans.”
