Logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group has invested in a new, larger office for the business to grow in to in Nottingham.

Europa says it has outgrown its former Nottingham office, at the Civic Centre on Pavilion Road, West Bridgford, following managing director Andrew Baxter’s acquisition of the business. Since that deal in 2013, the business has almost doubled its turnover – which is now nearing £145m – and has increased staff numbers from 485 to 650.

In Nottingham, the firm employs seven people.

HR director at Europa Carl Potter said the new Nottingham office, in Colwick, would provide space for more than twice the amount of staff the old office could accommodate with a 10-year lease on the 1,250 sq ft space.

He said: “Our previous site in Nottingham no longer had the space to meet the requirements of our growing team and so it became a priority for us to find a larger serviced office. We picked the site in Colwick Quays because it met all of our requirements and now that we have had it fully refurbished it will be big enough for up to 17 staff.

Managing director at Europa Andrew Baxter, said: “Our new Nottingham office is another indicator that we are on the right track with our plans for expansion. We recently announced our decision to set out on the acquisition trail following an established trend of 25 per cent organic growth across the business and strong regional branches continue to play a key part in cementing this success.

“Investing in our regional branches, through recruitment, training and improved facilities has always been part of our plan because we know that the commitment and dedication of our brilliant staff is the key to our success. Our new Nottingham office is set to be the source of even more good news and impressive achievements for the business, I have no doubt.”
