Over a thousand Notts homes a step closer after plans submitted

Some 1,050 new homes in Bingham are a step closer after Rushcliffe Borough Council received an application from Barratt Homes for the first 317 homes.

The Borough Council says it is working with local people and businesses, as well as the Town Council, to upgrade community facilities and draw in new employment opportunities for local people, and has recently committed to undertaking a masterplanning exercise for Bingham.

A statement from the Council said: “People want to move to Bingham, they want to be part of this up and coming community – this new development will provide over a thousand new homes as well as play areas for all ages and, in time, a new community centre.

“This residential development supports the Council’s recent acquisitions on Chapel Lane and Moorbridge Road which will be developed as new employment sites and during development there will be opportunities for training local people in construction – through apprenticeships, traineeships and a variety of jobs.”
