East Mids packaging firm moves to 20,000 sq ft HQ

Packaging firm FC Cartons has expanded its footprint after buying a 20,000 sq ft premises at Trent Lane, Castle Donington.

The move means the firm will bring its business together and triple the size of its previous premises.

Debra Woodyatt of FC Cartons said: “We’re delighted to have concluded this deal and are really looking forward to having our team and all our facilities together under one roof.

“This new space is over three times the size of our existing plant and will allow for even greater efficiencies in the delivery of our services.

“Logistically it will offer a vast improvement in the movement of goods around the plant, allowing incoming product, stock holdings, finishing solution and distribution to be a seamless production flow with plenty of room for growth.

“It will allow us to plan future expansion with the confidence that space for new manufacturing processes will not be a problem.

“We’re looking forward to installing our state-of-the-art equipment and welcoming our team into this fantastic new working environment, without having to relocate them too far away from our existing plan.”

The deal was brokered by Tim Gilbertson of FHP Property Consultants. He said: “The speed with which this building was snapped up shows again the strength of demand locally, driven by the expansion of local companies and by the real lack of supply in the market and with other deals due to complete in the region shortly this trend shows no sign of continuing.

“Effectively properties are being snapped up within a matter of days of going on the market, and further stock is definitely needed to meet what are consistently goods level of demand.”
