On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Tom Needs

Node4, the Derby cloud, data centre and communications solutions provider, has appointed Tom Needs as chief operations officer, a newly created position within the company.

Needs, who has previously held positions with Rackspace and Adapt, will be responsible for running the operational and service delivery functions of the business.

Andy Gilbert, chief executibe, Node4, said: “Our appointment of Tom at board level comes at a critical time for us as we look to position ourselves for the next stage of growth. East Midlands mechanical and electrical engineering firm Built Environment Consulting (BEC) has further expanded its team with the appointment of Duane Martin as a senior mechanical design engineer and Richard Wilson as a mechanical engineer.

The will be based at BEC’s new Nottingham office which opened in November.

Matthew Faulkner, director of BEC and head of the Nottingham office, said: “Our team is expanding rapidly to accommodate business growth and having opened our Nottingham office recently, we needed a highly skilled team to help us manage that growth and to further expand our portfolio.

“Duane has a great deal of experience in mechanical design engineering and knows the city and its ongoing construction projects well, he will be a real asset to BEC and Richard is enthusiastic, sociable and has extensive knowledge of the industry, making him a perfect fit for the team.
