Nottingham electrical firm signs three-year education deal

Ben Tooms and Andrew Springhall

Nottingham-based Breedon Electrical and Breedon Fire & Security have entered into a partnership with ABLE, the Association of Business Leaders in Education.

The three-year deal will see Breedon becoming one of ABLE’s four corporate partners. Breedon will support ABLE at three conferences each year and will look to increase its own presence in the education sector.

Established three years ago, Breedon employs 12 staff and has recently launched a sister business, Breedon Fire & Security. The firm was formed by Nottingham entrepreneur Andrew Springhall and Ben Tooms, who had previously run a family electrical business. Since he sold his Power On Connections venture, Springhall has invested in start-up and growth businesses in the East Midlands.

He said: “Partnering with ABLE is an excellent fit for our business. We were already making excellent progress with schools, but it’s now great to be working alongside ABLE and delivering helpful workshops to school Business Managers. We are extremely pleased how news of the work we are delivering to this network is spreading quickly – and positively.”

Karen Bonser, chair of ABLE, said: “We have now signed a partnership agreement with Breedon Electrical and Breedon Fire & Security for three years to work together in partnership with ABLE.

“The company first presented and exhibited with the group in June 2017 and have already delivered work to a large number of schools. Feedback to the ABLE group on their work and customer service from schools and academies has been very positive.”
