On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

PR, marketing and digital firm Shooting Star, based in Lincoln, has taken on two new team members.

The agency has recruited a senior account executive and a digital marketer.

Luke Thompson has taken up the senior account executive position and Wale Ajibade is the agency’s new digital marketer.

The expansion follows a series of new client wins at the beginning of the year for Shooting Star, which won a new contract with the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and has also taken on Tanglewood care Homes and North Kesteven Academy as new retainer clients.

Director Jez Ashberry said: “The latest appointments mean the Shooting Star team is bigger and better than ever. I’m sure Luke and Wale will help us continue to offer the best possible service to our clients and we welcome them both into the team.”

Lee Mabbutt

Nottingham-based John Pye Auctions has appointed Lee Mabbutt as its new head of vehicles.

He from British Car Auctions where he worked as a remarketing manager.

He said: “I am very excited to be joining such a fast growing and ambitious business, which is already well known in the used vehicle industry and has even more potential for growth. This business is big enough to handle significant clients yet small enough to care about individual consignments, which is uncommon in this industry.

“It’s fantastic to be joining John Pye Auctions at this exciting time as it celebrates its 50th anniversary and I am very much looking forward to supporting the firm’s continued growth plan.”
