Plans in for new cricket pavilion in Derbyshire village

How the new pavilion will look

Matthew Montague Architects has submitted a planning application for the demolition and redevelopment of Brailsford and Ednaston Cricket Club Pavilion.

The cricket club is located in the village of Brailsford 8 miles north of Derby, off the A52 on the route to Ashbourne.

A spokesperson for Matthew Montague said: “The plans submitted for approval are for the demolition of all existing facilities and the construction of a new single storey club house building, storage unit and practice nets. The proposed building will be mainly timber clad with white render and aluminium bi-folding doors and windows.

This, together with a mineral tiled roof, will give a real feeling of traditional English countryside cricket club.

The proposed building provides modern changing facilities for male, female and disabled cricketers. The club house is to be re-located to maximise the aspect and views of the cricket pitch.”

Matthew Montague expects to hear a decision from the local authority planning department early summer 2018.
