The White Rabbit Tearoom, which currently has premises on Bridlesmith Gate in Nottingham City Centre, is set to open a second vanue in West Bridgford.

The second teashop will open in Tudor Square in the space that was previously occupied by The Salad Bowl.

Hannah Owens of Rex Gooding Commercial Property brokered the deal.

She said: “There has been a lot of worry of the demise of independent small businesses in West Bridgford, with several closures recently, but hopefully the welcome of smaller independent brands like The White Rabbit Tearoom, shows that there is an appetite from the local community for more authentic, personal experiences.

“West Bridgford is an affluent and popular suburb, with a well-established and busy central retailing pitch. Rents are more affordable than city centre retail pitches, making it a great option for new or independent businesses. It’s a great location, and the local community is known to really get behind and support independent, local businesses.”

Frances Russell, business owner of The White Rabbit, said: “West Bridgford is such a thriving community and as well as having a busy and well used shopping area it is also a destination for people to travel to outside of the city centre. We had been looking in the area for a while and once the lease for the Salad Bowl came up we knew we could create a perfect space.”

She added: “It is a brilliant site, an affordable unit in a central location and visible from Central Avenue. We had a phenomenal amount of interest when marketing, which fills us with confidence in the West Bridgford retail market. There have been some vacant units on Gordon Road recently, but I am confident that judging by the interest we received at Tudor Square, these will be snapped up in no time.”
