Derby business services consultancy Ascentant has expanded, launching a risk and compliance service after the hire of Rachel Smith

Smith joins as a risk and compliance consultant and has over 17 years’ experience of risk management experience for national and international firms.

She said: “With the implementation of GDPR and the changing regulatory landscape in the UK, businesses need to be aware of organisational risk. There must be a culture of proactive compliance and risk management from the ground up, training all members of staff and having a robust compliance framework in place. The consequences for non compliance have been widely publicised by the ICO recently in terms of GDPR”.
