Flats plan gets go-ahead at former Job Centre

A former Job Centre in Derby city centre is to be turned into flats after the City Council gave the go-ahead for the scheme.
Telereal Trillium will redevelop Forester House, on the corner of Newland Sreet and Becket Street into 59 apartments over five storeys. The building was constructed in the 1970s and stretches to nearly 401,100 sq ft.
Once developed, the scheme will be home to 31 one-bedroom and 28 two-bedroom flats. It will have 60 car parking spaces.
Derby City Council has given the nod to the scheme on the condition that a detailed window and ventilation insulation scheme is submitted and approved so that residents “are not subjected to unreasonable levels of noise, particularly at night time”.
