Just two weeks to go until sold-out Hot Property

Nottingham’s hottest property event is now just two weeks away and, with tickets completely sold out, we caught up with Nottingham Hot Property’s (NHP) videographer Danielle Taylor and photographer Greg Jackson to find out how the pros are preparing for 8 November.
What does your role involve?
Greg: “This is my sixth year supporting Hot Property and my role is to capture the show in my documentary style, including photographing the dress rehearsal and back stage.”
Danielle: “As the videographer, I’m tasked with creating a two-minute video of the event with the aim of showcasing the energy and efforts of the Hot Property team and show off what a great night it is, all in aid of raising money and awareness for a really deserving, local children’s charity.”
How do you prepare for Hot Property?
Greg: “My prep begins by making sure my gear is charged up and ready to go. I always attend the dress reversal at the venue to take some pictures – but also to say hi to everyone so that new people taking part know I’m the photographer and not just a stranger taking their photo!”
Danielle: “On the day of the event I’m busy setting up my cameras and marking out little areas in the venue from where my cameras and additional crew will be filming from. I also interview a handful of people ahead of the evening such as the organisers, performers, sponsors and charity representative for the video.”
What is your favourite part of the event?
Greg: “My favourite thing about Hot Property is seeing everyone performing and hearing them rock out – the standard is really high and I love live music so it’s a great evening that never really feels like work. Hopefully this year you’ll see me up on stage to join a song.”
Danielle: “It’s definitely the song selections and costumes – I can barely stop myself dancing while trying to film a steady shot or laughing at the comedic costumes people come on stage with. As a video editor, you see a lot of the content quite a few times and it’s thoroughly enjoyable listening to all the songs again. It’s very hard to decide what makes it into the final video.”
This year is extra special as Millward, long time sponsors and trustees of Hot Property, are taking the headline sponsorship spot at the festival themed ‘Nottstock’ to celebrate 25 years in business.
The chosen charity for the 2018 NHP is PASIC, a Nottingham and Leicester based charity which aims to support families of young people who are being treated under the East Midlands Children’s and Young Person’s Integrated Cancer Service (CYPICS).
Alongside Millward the sponsors of Hot Property 2018 include Pulse Associates, Couch Perry Wilkes, Samclo Construction, Paragon Interiors, Faithful+Gould, Fraser Brown, CPMG and Browne Jacobson. Joining these are the event’s media partner The Business Desk, PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency Blimey Creative and design and print agency Ginger Root.
