Eighty-four jobs to be created as plans approved for new retail complex

How the new development would look

Over 80 jobs could are set to be created at a new retail development on the site of a former swimming baths after Nottingham City Council’s planning comittee gave the nod to the scheme

Lidl will build a new 33,000 sq ft outlet on land that was used by the Beechdale Swimming Baths in Nottingham. The leisure facility was demolished in 2017.

As well as a Lidl supermarket, the scheme outlines six further units and a drive-thru Costa coffee shop. In total, some 84 jobs could be created at the site.

The scheme has been overwhelmingly supported by locals, who say it will bring new jobs and a greater shopping choice, according to documents seen by TheBusinessDesk.com.
