On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Marc Rhodes

Lincolnshire architecture, sports and leisure firm, LK2, has hired a new marketing and communications manager, Marc Rhodes.

Rhodes will be working with LK2’s team of directors to develop a marketing strategy, target key audiences and oversee LK2’s marketing collateral, social media channels and attend key marketing events to promote the business.

He said: ““I’m so pleased to have joined LK2 during an exciting period of growth and development. It’s a business which boasts not only innovative projects, but unique services and a very knowledgeable team. A great example of this is the redevelopment LK2 delivered for Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) which won two awards as voted for by the general public at the recent Lincoln Good Design Awards – showing how well received LK2’s work is by the communities it serves. Its projects and approach blend sport, leisure and retail expertise with dynamic architectural services to deliver innovative and ground-breaking projects.”

Patrick Curry

MediConnect, the Nottingham blockchain solution for tracing and sharing data across the medication supply chain, has hired Patrick Curry OBE, chief executive of the British Business Federation Authority (“BBFA”), as an adviser to the Board.

The MediConnect blockchain is being built by Stratis Group as a bespoke solution based on the Stratis blockchain. MediConnect has launched its own MEDI Token to handle transactions and transfer value on its platform. The ICO of the MEDI Token is currently live and is expected to conclude in H1 2019.

Curry said: “MediConnect is an excellent example of a solution designed to tackle a problem by bringing industry, government and regulatory bodies together. The overuse of prescription medication is a growing and worrying trend in society and the need for controlled and trusted information sharing across the medical sector is key to addressing this. Because MediConnect is focused on drug delivery to patients and not just on patient records, I see ground-breaking opportunities for significant wider benefits in mental health, unemployment, care for the elderly, other addictions including food, alcohol and gambling, as well as reductions in costs and risks across the health and pharmaceutical industries. I look forward to working with the MediConnect consortia to develop its blockchain-based solution to this very important, national, real-world problem.”
