Property entrepreneur reveals his building blocks of business success

One of the Midlands’ most influential property figures of the last three decades is sharing his philosophy on success in a new book.

Paul Bassi, chief executive of stock market-listed Real Estate Investors and chairman of Bond Wolfe, has written Brick by Brick: Success in Business and Life, which is published by Bloomsbury tomorrow.

The book charts his life from the arrival of his father in the UK with only £2 in his pocket, through to how he built a £300m-plus property and business portfolio.

Passing on the knowledge gained in 35 years in business, his book provides commercial and property advice – such as how to read the property cycle, garnered from his experience gained in investing in the sector over three decades – and debunks a host of myths.

Bassi reveals how to achieve your “big picture” and demonstrates that it is possible for anyone to be successful with the right mindset and surrounding yourself with a great team and advisors.

He uses his life experiences from race riots and recessions to family and philanthropy, to share his philosophy on success, the secrets of other successful people and the best way to capitalise on every opportunity.

Bassi has had a long career in the region’s property sector, and co-founded Bond Wolfe with Rory Daly in 1983. He is also a partner in Zen Metro and Asha’s Restaurant, and non-executive chairman of Likewise plc.

He has also used his knowledge and networks to be a leader in the business community, including stints as President of Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and High Sheriff.

His work and his philanthropy has been recognised with a host of awards, including a CBE for services to business and the community in 2009 and winning TheBusinessDesk.com’s Ambassador of the Year in 2018.

He set up the Bond Wolfe Charitable Trust in 2009 and all profits from the sale of his book will go to the Trust.
