The developer of the Nightingale Quarter in Derby has appointed a city-based agent to market hundreds of its luxury homes at the site.

Developer Wavensmere Homes, which is investing £150m into creating 800 homes at the city centre site, has announced a partnership with Derby estate agent Spicerhaart.

The project includes the sale of 125 luxury two and three-bedroom homes, soon be released for sale, along with an array of apartments on the site of the former Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.

Sales director Donna Smith said: “Once we met with Spicerhaart we knew they were the right agents for the role. The Nightingale Quarter is a site that is already proving incredibly popular with potential buyers, and since we announced that enquiries were now being taken for the homes, we were inundated with people wanting to be on the list to be first to buy. So, bringing in such an experienced agency was very important to us in taking these forward.

“Spicerhaart have an incredible history in working around the country, but most importantly they have local knowledge of Derby and invaluable contacts that will put the Nightingale on the map, and we are proud to have them onboard,” she added.

The agency, which has just under 200 offices across the country, is itself about to open its new flagship branch in Derby, and Spicerhaart directors said this was because they have recognised the importance the city has in the Midlands’ economy.

Claire Drewett, divisional sales director for Spicerhaart, said: “Building a community in an oasis of calm and greenery but in the very heart of the of the exciting city of Derby. It will be the place to live.”

Planning permission for the Nightingale Quarter was granted earlier this year by Derby City Council.
