Acting on behalf of Glendine Properties, Rayner Davies Architects has submitted a planning application to convert a block of vacant city centre offices in Nottingham into 35 apartments.

The proposed new development at the Cavendish Buildings and Premier House on Wheeler Gate could include a range of studios, two-bed and three-bed units.

The apartments would be located within the existing roof void over Cavendish House. The grade II listed buildings were designed by John Howitt and built at the turn of the last century.

The exterior is a characteristic example of Howitt’s work, with red brick and stone dressings and sash windows, all of which will be retained.

Work is expected to start in January 2020 and will take six months to complete.

Project Managers Pulse Associates and engineers BSP will also have a hand in the new development.
