On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Rob Back

Loughborough-based chartered surveyors Mather Jamie has appointed a new head of planning.

Strategic development expert Rob Back brings 15 years of development experience in both the public and private sectors to the role.

Back was instrumental in enabling Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre and Leisure Park whilst head of planning at East Northamptonshire Council, and has also held roles as group manager for planning and economic development at Blaby District Council and head of growth and investment at Rugby Borough Council.

Immediately prior to joining Mather Jamie, Back was a director at DLP Planning Consultants in Rugby.

He will work primarily alongside Mather Jamie director Andrew Bamber.

He said: “What drew me to the role at Mather Jamie was the company’s fantastic existing client base, as well as its unique market position. As head of planning, I’ll be working to identify strategic development opportunities, promote these through the planning system and manage them through to delivery.

“I’m greatly looking forward to working with Andrew and the team here to create and establish sustainable communities across the Midlands.”

Elsewhere in the world of property, two graduates have joined Innes England’s professional services team.
