Nottingham agent lands Thomas Cook task

Travel agent Midcounties Co-op Travel has drawn up a list of former Thomas Cook shops across the UK and instructed a Nottingham-based property agent to broker deals to buy them.

Oliver Marshall of FHP Property Consultants says he has been asked by Midcounties to acquire the venues, which total 58 shops from across the UK.

The news comes after Thomas Cook collapsed last month, leaving thousands of holidaymakers stranded abroad.

Marshall said: “This is an exciting instruction and we have already made excellent headway with many of the properties on the target list. Midcounties Co-op Travel is an established travel brand with a good covenant which is sure to be attractive to any new landlord.

“I would urge any landlords or agents involved in the above shops to please get in contact as soon as possible as quick decisions will be made. Where possible Midcounties Co-op Travel will be re-employing former Thomas Cook staff so this opportunity has the potential to benefit all involved.”
