Jobs boost as insurance broker adds eight

An East Midlands-based insurance broker and financial planner has created eight new jobs – all of which have been taken by people under the age of 25.
Cowens Group, which has offices in Mansfield, Stamford, Birmingham and Milton Keynes, has added seven account handlers and one apprentice administration assistant to its ranks as part of its expansion plans.
It says the jobs boost was deliberately designed to future-proof its services and strengthen its reputation in the East Midlands and beyond.
Amy Town, Ryan Taylor, Hannah Jiggins, Alice Swan, Freya Bryan, Josh Smyth, Kiera Tarpey and Eve Stenson have all joined the commercial insurance side of the business.
Key partnerships director Declan Shaw said: “At Cowens, our ethos revolves around providing the very best customer service for our clients, and I believe our recruitment strategy over the past six months is a true reflection of that. We are pleased to have grown our team with so many talented new employees who share this vision of bringing the highest levels of professionalism to our industry.
“We have always prided ourselves on being an inclusive business for people of all ages and backgrounds, so providing opportunities for young professionals is high on our agenda. The business world is constantly evolving, and we are keen to evolve with it by creating a friendly, exciting and rewarding place to work where the next generation of employees can progress their careers, whilst retaining the high standards of service we are known for.”
The eight new recruits have grown Cowens’ workforce by 20 per cent, making 2019 one of the firm’s biggest years for expansion to date.
Shaw added: “Following our rebrand and restructure last year, we’ve taken on a large amount of new work, so it has been incredibly important to strengthen our team to support this business growth. Each person we’ve brought on board brings something unique and I’m looking forward to seeing how this new range of personalities and skills benefits the clients we help. It is brilliant to be able to support the careers of some of the up and coming stars of the insurance industry and I look forward to seeing them flourish and succeed in their new roles.”
