Housing provider buys charity out of administration

A Lincolnshire charity has been bought out of administration by a housing provider.

Gainsborough-based Acis has acquired parts of the failed Lincolnshire Home Independence Agency and subsidiary company LHIA Adaptations after both ceased trading last month (October).

Acis will now be offering home adaptation, handyperson and wellbeing services directly to people across Lincolnshire – and beyond – including to its thousands of social housing customers.

The operations will fall under the new trading name Acis HomePlus. Services will be aimed at helping people with mobility issues and disabilities, including elderly people, stay in the home of their choice for longer.

Acis chief executive Greg Bacon said: “It was sad to see a trusted partner of ours like Lincolnshire Home Independence Agency cease trading. As an organisation with like-minded vision and values, we feel we are a good fit to continue its legacy through our new adaptations service.

“We intend to build on what has already been achieved and develop a best-in-class service to enable vulnerable people to stay in the home of their choice for as long as possible.”
