Materials giant announces key hire as co-founder departs

Breedon, the listed construction materials company, has appointed an independent non-executive director to replace outgoing director David Williams.

It is anticipated that Moni Mannings will succeed Williams, who served on the firm’s Board since its creation in 2008, as chair of Breedon’s Remuneration Committee.

Williams, who co-founded the company, will retire on 31 December.

Mannings previously served as a Board member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and has held non-executive director roles at Dairy Crest Group and Polypipe Group.

She is currently senior independent director and chair of the Remuneration Committee at Investec Bank.

A former partner and head of the international banking and finance division at Olswang, Mannings was most recently chief operating officer of IP data analytics and strategy company Aistemos.

Williams said: “Having served as a non-executive director and chair of the Remuneration Committee since co-founding the company in 2008, I believe the time is now right to step down from the Board in accordance with best governance practice. I will therefore retire as a director at the end of this year.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to serve on Breedon’s Board for the last 11 years and as I take my leave I am delighted that the company has attracted two such outstanding new non-executive directors in Moni Mannings and Clive Watson. I wish the company and its staff every success in the future.”
