On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Derby-based financial services training provider EMA Training has hired a new COO and sales director.

James Stafford and Matt Edwards will work with local employers to support the growth of the business during 2020 and beyond.

Tracey Mosley, CEO at EMA Training, said: “From January 2020, SMEs will be able to select their apprenticeship training from all main provider organisations and institutions that remain listed in the register of apprenticeship training providers (RoATP).

“We needed to strength the leadership team to engage with local businesses with their apprenticeship recruitment needs. I am delighted James and Matt have joined the business to support us with this.”

Richard Gerver, chair of the EMA Board, added: “I am thrilled that we have been able to secure two of the most experienced and talented professionals in the training sector. It reinforces our commitment to excellence and to the widening of opportunity for our learners. It underlines our status as a key provider in developing an outstanding and highly skilled workforce, supporting businesses meet the challenges they face now and tomorrow.”

Elsewhere, Sills & Betteridge has strengthened its commercial litigation team with a new appointment.

Madeline Broddley, a chartered legal executive, joins the law firm with over 30 years of experience in national and international debt recovery and insolvency.

Broddley will act for clients across the East Midlands region.

She said: “I take great pride in looking after my clients’ interests and recovering money owed to them. I have acquired a vast wealth of experience over the years enabling me to deal with most situations confronting clients. I look forward to being able to continue providing and further developing my dedicated service to clients, supported by Sills & Betteridge who add to the expertise I am able to offer.”

Karen Bower Brown, head of commercial litigation, added: “I am so pleased that Madeline has decided to join our commercial litigation team. I have no doubt that her skills and expertise will be hugely beneficial to our clients and will complement the services we already provide to clients in the department and the wider firm.”
