Care home provider acquires sixth East Midlands site

An East Midlands-based care provider has snapped up a 40-bedroom care home in Leicester, bringing its total number of sites up to six.

Langdale Care Homes, which is headquartered in Thurmaston, has used part of £6m funding package from Barclays to purchase the Sutton-in-the-Elms home at 80 Sutton Lane.

The company, which specialises in residential, dementia and nursing care, is already an established presence in Leicester and also has sites in Chesterfield and Derby. The firm employs 250 staff across its various homes and its head office.

Director Neemat Sadiq said: “The acquisition of Sutton-in-the-Elms home has allowed us to expand our portfolio of homes in line with our strategic growth aspirations and allows us to extend the care services we provide to clients across the East Midlands.”

Ashley Hallam, relationship director for Barclays, added: “Langdale Care Homes have grown their presence in the industry with a real focus on the East Midlands region. I am delighted we have been able to support them with a sizeable funding package which allows them to continue on their growth journey and invest in to care in the East Midlands.’’

Kate Hall and Lisa Botterill from Shakespeare Martineau, Chris O’Toole from TLT Solicitors, Colin Peacock and Chris Matthews of HSKS Greenhalgh and Abdul Premji of AA Premji & Co were all involved in the deal.
