Land deal paves way for major residential scheme on edge of Nottingham

Where the new homes will be built

Some 150 houses are set to be built on the outskirts of Nottingham after St Modwen sold a residential parcel of land in Eastwood to housebuilder Persimmon Homes.

The 17-acre former manufacturing site will see Persimmon Homes build 150 new family homes and develop public open space after. The news comes two years after St Modwen secured outline planning permission for the scheme.

The former brownfield site was once home to the Beamlight Automotive Seating factory which closed its doors in 2012.

Nick Whittingham, development director at St Modwen, said: “We’re delighted to have secured planning permission for this former industrial site and to be bringing forward new family homes through this sale to Persimmon Homes. Eastwood is an established and thriving local community with lots to offer to homebuyers and it’s fantastic to see this development coming to fruition.”

Neil Follows, managing director at Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “We are very pleased to have finalised the land purchase in Eastwood. This is an exciting opportunity to create much-needed new homes for a range of buyers in a sought-after area.

“Colliers Way, as the development will be called, will feature a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes.”
