Nottingham Hot Property raises record amount for charity

Annual charity event Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) has raised an incredible £25,000 for local charity Switch Up, a Nottingham organisation that uses a combination of physical activity, mentorship, counselling and education to help young people with complex issues.

More than 800 people from across the East Midlands property and construction industry attended the fifteenth annual Hot Property. The event, held at PRYZM, aims to showcase the best talent in the city, while raising thousands of pounds to support local youngsters.

Marcellus Baz BEM, founder and CEO of Switch Up, said: “The event was amazing and we’re so grateful to Nottingham Hot Property for choosing us to be its charity of the year.

“We’re amazed at the amount raised and this incredible support will help us to further link young people from Nottingham’s most deprived communities with opportunities they didn’t know existed. It will also help to provide positive role models, peer mentors, councillors, and support through difficult or challenging life situations.”

Max Kwan, an NHP organiser, said: “We’re always blown away by the success of these events, but last year was one of our most successful. It’s always amazing to see so many local professionals coming together to make a real difference, but £25,000 is a staggering amount and has smashed all our previous records.

Siobhan Goodacre, a fellow Hot Property trustee, added: “The theme ‘Throwback Thursday’ worked really well and everyone got stuck into their performances – from acts such as The Spice Girls to Chic, the variety was brilliant.

“I’ve loved helping to bring the event to life this year so to raise £25,000 for such a worthy cause is absolutely fantastic. I’m incredibly proud of the entire team and performers for all their hard work.”

The sponsors for this year’s event include: Pulse Consult and Savills as headline sponsors as well as B&M Installations, Couch Perry Wilkes, CPMG, Faithful + Gould, Fraser Brown, Samclo Construction and Shakespeare Martineau. Joining these are: Invest in Nottingham, the event’s media partner The Business Desk, PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency Blimey Creative and design and print agency Ginger Root.
